Description
The Casa Rojo El Gordo del Circo Verdejo is not just any Verdejo but a very beautiful and especially very elegant version and this is, in addition to the high quality of the fruit, also due to the long maturation at a cold temperature on the lees (the lees/fermentation/sur lie) which gives the wine a great roundness in the mouth and a powerful structure. The Verdejo grapes come from a vineyard of approximately 30 years old located on gravel and poor sandy soils. This ensures that the vines have to root very deeply and work hard and wine connoisseurs know that a vine 'suffers' to produce the most beautiful fruit. The grapes come from Olmedo, Valdestillas and Segovia, 100% Verdejo. Maceration of the grape at low temperature for 24 hours. Fermentation in amphorae eggs at low temperature to extract a large amount of aromatic compounds from the grape and then the wine ages on its lees for 5-6 months.
The Casa Rojo El Gordo del Circo Verdejo has a light straw yellow color, with greenish tones, clean, clear and transparent. On the nose it is elegant and intense, with initially balsamic and aromas such as fennel, hay, cut grass and anise, which give way to hints of citrus and white fruit. In the mouth it is broad, fresh, with intense acidity, maintaining the perfect balance with the sugar.

ABOUT CASA ROJO
THE MOST IMPORTANT VIRTUE OF A WINE IS BALANCE” LAURA MUÑOZ-ROJO - At Casa Rojo they make wines with which José Luis and Laura feel identified. They have the luck and luxury to be able to produce in the areas where they have their roots and admire with the two grapes they are passionate about: Tinta Fina (Tempranillo) in the continental climate of La Ribera del Duero and the Monastrell in our Mediterranean homeland, Tierra de Murcia. Recently, the unique white grapes from Ribero - Galicia have been added, such as Verdejo, Albariño and Sauvignon Blanc. The vision of Casa Rojo is clear. “A wine must be a maximum expression of the soil, the grapes, the local climate.”
Casa Rojo has been active since 2010, so it is a fairly young company, but Casa Rojo wines are now available in more than 40 countries, including the USA, Singapore, Italy, France, the Netherlands, Mexico, Japan, Hong Kong, Australia, Sweden, Switzerland, etc and demand exceeds supply. Not surprising because the quality of wines, the stories behind the wine and the selection are downright unique.
