2021 Vinedo Chadwick Magnum

2021 brought an exceptional vintage thanks to a temperate season that resulted in long, even ripening, preserving the grapes' natural acidity. The result is an elegant wine, fresh and full of tension, with a high aromatic complexity, complemented by the finesse of the tannins, a key characteristic of Viñedo Chadwick. A wine with a wonderfully elegant structure, persistence, and enormous aging potential.

The season began with warmer than usual weather, allowing for even ripening, and returned to moderate temperatures in November and December. A little rain in late January helped replenish well-drained gravelly soils and cool the summer temperatures. The cooler summer conditions allowed the healthy grapes to ripen softly and smoothly. The tannins and sugars matured slowly, concomitantly, until harvest time. The berries were firm, with excellent color, ripe tannins, and fresh acidity, balanced by optimal sugar content. After this mild ripening season, the harvest began towards the end of March.

This deep purple-colored Viñedo Chadwick 2021 is highly complex on the nose, with intense aromas of violets, raspberries, and blackcurrants. Followed by cocoa, coffee beans, and nutmeg. A wine that is long and deep, along with flavors of fresh red fruit, dark chocolate, and spices. On the palate, the wine is complex and layered, revealing fine-grained, chalky tannins with juicy acidity, elegance, and a long finish.
