The 2021 Léoville Poyferré is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 26% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Petit Verdot. The wine has a deep garnet-purple color and bursts from the glass with enticing notes of chocolate-covered cherries, blueberry tart, dried mulberries, and blackcurrant syrup, along with hints of camphor, espresso, spice cake, and tea. It is medium to full-bodied on the palate with good freshness, featuring blackberry preserves and layers of exotic spices. An already incredibly impressive wine, the beautiful fruit will be further enhanced after the tannins have settled in the barrel.

In the heart of the Médoc, Château Léoville Poyferré has always been one of the most prestigious wine estates. Once upon a time, it was a single estate called Léoville, renowned throughout the region. Throughout history, it has passed through various families through heirs and significant events. In 1865, the estate came into the hands of the bankers Baron d'Erlanger and Armand Lalande. They faced setbacks in the form of phylloxera and powdery mildew epidemics. Today, the château belongs to the Cuvelier family. Since the 1980s, they have invested heavily with extraordinary results. Today, the château is among the finest in the Saint-Julien region.

This is a 1.5 litre magnum – even tastier, more festive and with a longer drinking window.
