The domain Tenuta Guado al Tasso is located near Bolgheri, in the Maremma on the Tuscan coast. The Guado al Tasso Il Bruciato takes its name from a Robin Hood-like figure who lived in the Bolgheri area. Antinori shows the potential of the area with this wine, very rich and at the same time elegant blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah. An excellent Supertuscan wine.

This intense ruby red wine has a scent of red blackberries, is slightly spicy and gives aromatic hints of oak. The taste is very soft, pleasant and has a nice long full aftertaste. After the picking of the grapes, in mid-September, the Merlot and Syrah grapes receive a light pre-fermentation at a temperature below 10Cº. The fermentation process is then continued, for 10 to 15 days, in stainless steel tanks, where the temperature must not exceed 28Cº. The aging process of the wine is then continued in both American and French oak barrels until the end of the year. Just before the bottling process, the blend is made and then aged in the bottle for another 8 months in the domain's cellars.

Delicious Tuscan top wine for a festive dinner if you have all the time to enjoy its rich taste with always high scrores from the international wine press, but in short this also comes from the Antinori's. 93/100 Parker and Suckling

The Guado al Tasso estate is located in the small but prestigious Bolgheri appellation on the coast of Tuscany, upper Maremma, some 100 kilometers southwest of the city of Florence. The region can boast of a worldwide reputation as a reference point for international high end wines such as Sassicaia, Ornellaia and of course Guado al Tasso. The vineyards of Guado al Tasso are mainly composed of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Vermentino grapes; the latter cultivated with both white and red varieties. They enjoy a mild climate thanks to the proximity of the Mediterranean Sea, the constant breezes soften the summer heat and the rigors of winter clean the air and provide high levels of sunlight and radiation.

More information about Antinori

Marquis Piero Antinori is in charge and is assisted by his three daughters: Albiera, Allegra and Alessia. Funny those three A's. We are not going to bother you with all the awards that have been received over the years, because then this price list can no longer go through the letterbox. There are two red wines that are available on allocation and that one would like to get a few bottles from all over the world and that are Tignanello and Solaia and we also have these in our range at Grandcruwijnen.

In 1180, Ugo and Antinori di Rinuccino were officially named as owners of Castello di Combiate; a century later, the family who had moved to Florence were included in the register of the silk trade cooperative. In 1385, Giovanni di Piero, an indirect descendant, entered the wine guild as an apprentice. Since then, the wine-growing tradition of the Antinori family has been continuous. With the establishment of the Marchesi Antinori winery, the peak was reached in 1895 and already in 1898 the winery was built in San Casciano Val di Pesa, which is still the center of the widely branched group of properties in all major cultivation areas of Tuscany, Umbria. , Piemonte (since the early 90s through the purchase of the wine cellar Prunotto), Apulia and even California. The traditional house participating in the modern Tuscan wine-growing revolution owes much of its prestige to its former chief vinologist Giacomo Tachis, who produced exceptional wines such as Sassicaia, Tignanello (especially sangiovese), Solaia (especially cabernet) and many others. the other was responsible. Vinologist Renzo Cotarella also created one of the best chardonnays in Italy in the Umbrian Castello della Sala.
