2020 Weingut Pfaffl Cuvee Privat

In 1978, Roman and Adelheid Pfaffl became owners of Weingut Pfaffl at a young age in Stetten, a village just north of Vienna in the Weinviertel - Lower Austria region. Before 1978, the Pfaffl farm was dominated by the cultivation of grains, potatoes and the rearing of cows and pigs. A lot has changed in a short time and Pfaffl is currently one of the highest peaks in Austria. Pfaffl was named Best Austrian Producer in 2022 by the Frankfurt International Trophy. Earlier this year they received the same award from Mundus Vini. At Parker (the Wine Advocate) they belong to the highest scoring producer with their entire range.

The Cuvée Privat was created by winemaker Roman Pfaffl Jr. for his girlfriend Julia! A rich blend of Merlot (from Ulrichskirchen) and St. Laurent (from Münichsthal). Bottoms of sandy loess, which gives a lot of heat. Aging for 12 months in barrique. This Cuvee Privat is rich and full of dark fruits such as blackberries, dark chocolate, toast and delicious soft tannins. The Cuvee Privat is a wine that is made in small numbers and of which only a small part of it goes to the Netherlands every year by registration.
