The Riesling from Villa Wolf is harvested at the end of September and immediately destemmed in the vinification room, after which it is gently pressed with the greatest care. After this, the juice remains for more than two weeks in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 18°C to undergo alcoholic fermentation. After this, the wine is matured on its fine lees without allowing malolactic fermentation to take place, in order to retain the freshness in this wine. After a few months, the assembly follows and the wine is bottled after a light filtering.

The Riesling Fruity with its light straw yellow color gives in the nose aromas of passion fruit and juicy stone fruits. This Riesling shows in the attack the aromas of lemon, yellow stone fruit and green apple. The fresh acids are slightly masked by the little residual sweetness after which it ends in a light mineral aftertaste. Truly a fruity, fresh not too dry Riesling!

Ernst Loosen, the owner of the famous winery Dr. Loosen, took over the winery Villa Wolf in 1996 and improved the quality and reputation of the estate. Patrick Möllendorf and Sumi Gebauer worked together with Dr. Loosen for several years. As a team, they now manage the entire winemaking process at Villa Wolf, from vine to cellar. They share Ernst Loosen's philosophy that great wines are made on the vine.

The domain Dr. Loosen has been in the same family for over 200 years. When Ernst Loosen took the helm in 1988, he acquired very special vines with an average age of more than 60 years! Some of the vineyards themselves consist of ungrafted vines over 120 years old! In order to produce world-class wines, Ernst Loosen drastically reduced the yield per hectare and immediately stopped the systematic chemical fertilization of the vineyards.

Since then, only natural fertilizers have been used in small quantities. The greatest revolution took place in the wine cellars, where everything was set up to treat the grapes, must and wines as gently as possible, to fully preserve the essence of terroir and grape. In the vineyards, the Riesling rules as a unique grape. It has different shapes from dry to noble sweet, from elegant and light to full and ultra-concentrated, depending on the time of harvest, the age of the vines, the maturing stage of the grapes, whether or not noble rot (botrytis), the terroir and of course the harvest year. The bottom of Dr. Loosen vineyards consists of a rock hard slate surface that forces the roots to go deep in search of water, minerals and food. The location of the vineyards on the extremely steep, south-facing slopes on the banks of the Mosel is ideal for slow, perfect ripening. The grapes basked in the sun three times, as it were, directly and reflected from the stone bottom and the river. The vineyards of Dr. Loosen are located along the lazy meandering Mosel, between Bernkastel and Kindel, with world famous names like Bernkasteler Lay, Dr. Loosen, Graacher Himmelreich, Wehlener Sonnenuhr, Urziger Würzgarten, Erdener Prälat and Erdener Treppchen.
