2020 Raymond Dupont-Fahn Meursault 'Les Clous'

Domaine Dupont-Fahn is located in Tailly (Meursault, Burgundy) and was founded in 1975. At the time, Raymond Dupont-Fahn's grandfather believed that his land, which stretches across Les Perrières de Meursault and Sous le dos d'Anes, was too rocky and lacked soil. The INAO accepted that 20 cm of topsoil be added to the soil. A few years later, following a complaint from surrounding producers, the plot was downgraded to the Bourgogne Blanc appellation for the same reason. Almost forty years later, the vines are deeply and perfectly rooted in their original terroir and produce high-quality wines. This history, undoubtedly unique in Burgundy, attracts the curious and buyers, and it is now very difficult to obtain these wines. Raymond Dupont-Fahn represents the third generation of winemakers in this vineyard, where work is done without pesticides.

Les Clous is situated on the highest part of Meursault and on very hard limestone. This cuvée comes from 85-year-old Chardonnay vines. White peaches, mango kernels, apple pie, cloves, and vanilla cream on the nose. Full, creamy, and buttery, yet very fresh.
