The Domain Hispano Suizas is the story of the conviction to make a dream come true. Three men, Marc Grin, Pablo Ossorio and Rafael Navarra, kindred spirits, shared the same dream because all three worked in the wine world for most of their lives. They were looking for a way to realize their dream wine. Their independence, contrasting experiences and the three key elements of a good product: traditional viticulture, innovative technology and international experience have resulted in a small masterpiece of 61 Ha of vineyards just west of Requena (Valencia)
Hispano Suizas, Celler del Roure and Dominio de la Vega are without a doubt the top products from the DO Valencia and make fantastic wines from Bobal grapes with a very good price/quality ratio.
The bobal grapes are selected manually from the best parts of the vineyard. The harvest takes place in the very early morning and the 15 kg crates are already cooled during transport so that the grapes retain their freshness. The Bobos Finca Casa La Borracha stays for at least 10 months in new French Allier oak barrels and the wine is only lightly filtered during bottling. In the glass, the Finca Casa La Borracha is intense red with violet reflections. In the nose, the wine is very complex and combines very beautifully the aromas of oak with the ripe fruit, balsamic and espresso. On the palate, this full bodied wine is fat with a majestic passage through the mouth and the wine has present but elegant tannins, with a good balance between fruit, acidity and wood.
The Domain Hispano Suizas is the story of the conviction to make a dream come true. Three men, Marc Grin, Pablo Ossorio et Rafael Navarra, soul mates, shared the same dream because all three of them worked in the wine world for most of their lives. They were looking for a way to realize their dream wine. Their independence, contrasting experiences and the three key elements for a good product: traditional viticulture, innovative technology and international experience yielded a small masterpiece of 61 hectares of wine-growing land just west of Requena.
Their goal: To produce high quality wine and make it accessible to the growing number of wine lovers. This requires daily care and attention for the best way to produce the best wine. They have been very careful and patient during production knowing that the right combination can deliver a terribly beautiful result. The goal is ambitious; to produce masterly wine and make it accessible to the consumer are usually two conflicting institutions.
The wines grow in an area of 61 hectares, of which 46 hectares surround the winery and the other 15 hectares are only 500 meters away from the rest. Many different grapes are grown, including: Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Verdejo, Bobal, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Syrah, Pinot Noir and Petit Verdot. About 4000 vines grow per hectare, which allows the wine company to work in a very precise way to grow and harvest the best quality grapes. Production is only 2kg per vine. Because they grow so many different grapes, the harvest takes almost 3 months, starting with the cava in August and ending with the red wines in October.
