Clos Mireille is one of the rare crus of the Côtes de Provence. The domain comprises 53ha of which only 40 are planted with vineyards. The property is ideally located on a slate terrace that plunges down to the Mediterranean Sea near Brégançon. The domain dates back to the 18th century and has been owned by the Ott family since 1936. It is known as the birthplace of the best white wine of the region, mainly Sémillon, supplemented by Vermentino. This superior white wine has aromas of fresh apricot, wild flowers, honey and a touch of pepper. The long, balanced finish is supported by some oiliness and creaminess, with a return of the fruit on a silky pattern.
The vineyards of Clos Mireille are located on the hills that end in the Mediterranean Sea and have the unique Cru Classé “Blanc de Côte”. The plots where the Blanc de Blancs are grown lie against the coast and lead to the beach. The grapes are hand-picked and rigorously selected upon entering the cellars. Then a slow fermentation follows. The wine is aged for a minimum of 8 months in oak barrels. Unique, scarce and so beautiful.
