Description
Of course, the Premier Crus Faiveley Les Charmes Chambolle-Musigny is a 100% Pinot Noir. Although the village of Chambolle-Musigny boasts two Grands Crus - Bonnes-Mares and Musigny, which critics agree are sites that produce the greatest Pinot Noir wines in the world, production is so small that it is essentially out of reach is. The Premier Cru vineyards, on the other hand, offer hope as there are 24 Premier Cru sites of excellent quality and just as important - they are still affordable. The Premier Cru sites Pinot Noirs produce the more feminine side of the variety. Flavors of red fruit such as raspberry, red cherry and strawberry are supported by silky textures, supple, soft and velvety tannins and this Faiveley Les Charmes Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru is a textbook example of this. In the nose complex aromas of fresh fruit and toasted and smoked notes. The first attack is pleasant but pronounced, after which delicate, elegant tannins are released. A wine full of finesse!
The 100% Pinot Noir vines are planted on a limestone soil. The vineyards have an eastern and north-eastern exposure with an average yield of 40 hl per ha. Domaine Faiveley keeps the work in the vineyards in-house, which gives them excellent control over the quality of the grapes. The hand-picked harvest is carefully brought to the cellars in Nuits Saint Georges. The wine is aged in French oak barriques for 12-14 months in the cellars of Domaine Faiveley in Nuits Saint Georges.
