Description
The 20120 Léoville Poyferré has a deep garnet purple colour and bursts from the glass with seductive notes of chocolate covered cherries, blueberry tart, dried mulberries and blackcurrant syrup plus suggestions of camphor, espresso, spice cake and tea. It is medium to full bodied on the palate with good freshness with blackberry preserves and exotic spice layers. An already incredibly impressive wine that will only amplify the beautiful fruit once the tannins have settled after the end of barrel ageing.
In the heart of the Médoc, Château Léoville Poyferré has always been one of the most prestigious wine estates. Once upon a time, there was a single estate called Léoville that was famous throughout the region. Over the course of history, it has come into the possession of various families through heirs and major events. In 1865, the estate came into the hands of the bankers Baron d'Erlanger and Armand Lalande. They had to deal with setbacks, in the form of phylloxera and mildew epidemics. Today, the château belongs to the Cuvelier family. They have invested heavily since the 1980s with extraordinary results. The château is now among the top within the Saint-Julien. This is a magnum of 1.5 liters. Even tastier and longer to drink.
FACT: In the Tab: Attachment you will find the official fact sheet of this beautiful wine. We will automatically send it to you when you order this wine. It is worth mentioning that we buy the wines directly and never through intermediaries because then we do not know which journeys the wine has made and how it has been treated. The wines come from the cellars of the Chateau directly to our conditioned Warehouse in Dordrecht where all our wines are stored. If you come and collect them, you will often also receive a nice discount.

Deep purple-black colored, the 2020 Léoville Poyferré comes bounding out of the glass like an energetic young pup, delivering exuberant scents of crushed black cherries, juicy blackberries and warm cassis, with hints of ground cloves, dark chocolate, lilacs and tilled soil. The medium to full-bodied palate is wonderfully plush, delivering bags of ripe black fruits with a seamless backbone of acidity, finishing long and spicy.
