The Grand Cru Classé Château Berliquet from Saint Emilion was taken over in 2017 by the famous luxury house Chanel. The 2020 Berliquet is composed of 69% Merlot and 31% Cabernet Franc, with a weight of 14.5% alcohol. It matures in French oak. barrels of which 50% is new oak In the glass the Berliquet has a deep dark red-purple color The wine drifts out of the glass with stewed black cherries, warm plums and blackberries, plus notes of chocolate violets and licorice with a hint of fertile loam It is medium to full bodied on the palate with layers of ripe black fruit and earthy notes, framed by fine grained tannins and a super freshness ending with a long and fragrant finish.
