Description
The Grand Cru Classé Château Berliquet from Saint Emilion was acquired by the famous luxury house Chanel in 2017. This domain is beautifully situated between Ausone and Angélus and has been on the rise since the acquisition by Chanel. This 2020 vintage is already scoring 95-96/100 points at Parker and Suckling. The 2020 Berliquet is composed of 69% Merlot and 31% Cabernet Franc, weighing 14.5% alcohol. It is aged in French oak barrels, 50% of which are new oak. In the glass, the Berliquet has a deep dark red-purple color. The wine bursts from the glass with stewed black cherries, warm plums and blackberries, plus notes of chocolate violets and licorice with a hint of fertile loam. It is medium to full bodied on the palate with layers of ripe black fruit and earthy accents, framed by fine-grained tannins and a super freshness ending with a long and fragrant finish.

The 2020 Berliquet is composed of 69% Merlot and 31% Cabernet Franc, weighing in at 14.5% alcohol. It is aging in French oak barrels, 50% new. Deep purple-black colored, it proudly casually out of the glass with effortlessly flamboyant scents of stewed black cherries, warm plums and baked blackberries, plus hints of chocolate mint, violets and licorice with a touch of fertile loam. The medium to full-bodied palate is very tightly wound with layers of ripe black fruits and earthy accents, framed by finely grained tannins and tons of freshness, finishing long and fragrant

Rooted on the limestone plateau, on the western slope of Saint-Emilion, Château Berliquet overlooks the Dordogne River in the distance. In this hilly landscape, undulating under the Atlantic breeze, where the scent of Mediterranean trees mingles with the scents of the ocean, the vineyards exude a very special atmosphere.
