Description
The 2018 Vérité La Muse is a blend of 90% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc and 4% Malbec, the 2018 La Muse was matured for 16 months in 100% new French oak barrels. The wine has a medium to deep garnet purple colour and opens with a powerful perfume of cherry pie, blackberry jam and baked plums. This is complemented by nuances of red roses, undergrowth and unsmoked cigars, along with subtle hints of licorice and tea.
On the palate, the 2018 Vérité La Muse is a 1.5 liter magnum bottle in a wooden box. A collector’s item for a 100/100 points wine. Medium to full-bodied, with layers of black fruits and exotic spices elegantly unfolding. The structure is characterized by velvety tannins and a refreshing, seamless balance, leading to an epically long and intoxicatingly fragrant finish. The intensity and complexity of the aromas and flavors – all in a mesmerizingly harmonious dance – are nothing short of astonishing. Insane

A blend of 90% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc and 4% Malbec, the 2018 La Muse was matured 16 months in 100% new French oak barrels. Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, the nose delivers a powerful perfume of cherry pie, blackberry preserves and baked plums, followed by suggestions of red roses, cast-iron pan, underbrush and unsmoked cigars, plus wafts of licorice and oolong tea. Medium to full-bodied, the black fruit and exotic spice layers flow so gracefully over the palate, textured by plush tannins and lifted with seamless freshness, finishing epically long and achingly fragrant. The intensity and complexity of aromas and flavors—all waltzing in captivating harmony—cannot fail to make your head spin in the best possible way. Electrifying!

One of the most refined and tight Muses with blackberries, milk chocolate, pine needles and hints of dried herbs. Full-bodied, yet so in check with a great finish. It’s seamless and goes on and one. Intellectual, compared to past vintages. 90% merlot with some malbec and cabernet franc. Try after 2026, but attractive now.

The 2018 La Muse, 90% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc and 3% Malbec, is floral, elegant and light on its feet for such a rich wine. Hillside vineyards in Chalk Hill, Alexander Valley, Knights Valley and Bennett Valley confer structure and a good bit of savory intensity. The 2018 is full of intrigue, that much is clear.

Tasted from barrel earlier this year, the 2018s at Vérité showed tremendous purity, energy and delineation. Hopefully those qualities will come through in bottle as well. The Vérité wines have always been special, but in recent years they have gained an added measure of finesse that is so attractive.

With more than 50 "micro-crus" spread over four appellations, Vigneron Pierre Seillan carefully crafts each Vérité blend. This mosaic of micro-crus gives Seillan the palette of aromatics, flavors, textures and structural elements he needs to make the wines of Vérité. Each micro-cru is individually harvested and fermented, then aged in French oak barrels with various custom toasts. Seillan carefully tailors his winemaking techniques and oak regimes to the personality of each plot, equipping it with hundreds of unique components that he can use to architecture from the final blends of La Muse, La Joie and Le Désir.
Like many high-end Napa wines, the Vérité has been distributed for years via the Neogciance in Bordeaux, where Grandcru wines can fortunately also buy and the run is always on the famous assortment box in which the La Muse, La Joie and Le Désir are packed in a very nice box. . Amazing wines that can go into the cellar for decades and have therefore also become investment objects.
