The Maranges area, mainly Pinot Noir plus some Chardonnay, forms a link between the Côte-d'Or and the Saône-et-Loire. Its vineyards are intertwined with those of neighboring Santenay, with which it shares a number of well thought-out Premiers Crus. The Pinot Noir grapes for this Château de la Crée Maranges Rouge En Goty were in impeccable condition and optimally ripe in 2015; the winning duo. The age of the vines is 40 years and the vineyard is only 0.36 ha in size. The wine was harvested on September 9, 2015, after which the wine was aged for 18 months in oak barriques, 20% of which were new French oak, and the wine was then bottle-aged in the beautiful cellars of the Château. As with all wines, La Crée releases its wines much later than most Burgundy wineries.

The generous wines of this sunny vintage stand out. Things moved very quickly in 2015, both in the vineyards and in the winery. Flowering took place at the beginning of June, followed by veraison in mid-July, with the start of the harvest at the end of August. The weather dictated the pace, resulting in beautiful grapes, the foundation of a great vintage. The Maranges Rouge En Goty is a perfect accompaniment to poultry and red meat, grilled spare ribs and barbecued pork.
