Description

Borgogno is one of the very first and probably the oldest wineries in Piedmont. The Italian winery strongly believes in the classical and traditional philosophy whatever its strength; For years, the observance of these traditions has been passed on to the next generations. Borgogno owns 13 hectares of vineyards, 9 of which are planted with the Nebbiolo grape. The wines are all vinified in the traditional way to produce unique and structured wines. The wines are produced sustainably.

Borgogno has access to several Cru vineyards; Liste, Cannubi and Fossati. These vineyards are scattered throughout the area and give the best and typical Barolo styles. The Cannubi is the best known and most praised Cru of Barolo and gives wines that can easily be 30 years old. Powerful wine with an aging of 4 years in Slovenian oak barrels (6000 ltr) after which the wine matures for another 6 months in bottle. The Cannubi has a deep garnet red color in the glass with the typical roof tile orange tones. On the nose, the Borgogno Cannubi is full of scents of roses, spices and dark fruit. Beautiful layers and very complex. In the mouth a full bodied wine, powerful with refined tannins. You have Barolo and you have the Borgogno Cannubi. 95/100 Suckling
