Description
Château Margaux is one of the most famous wineries in the world. It is located in Bordeaux near the town of Margaux. Château Margaux is classified as Premier Grand Cru Classé according to the Bordeaux wine classification system of 1855. The estate includes 82 hectares for red wine and 12 hectares for white wine. On these 94 hectares, 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 4% Petit Verdot and 1% Cabernet Franc are grown. 12 hectares of Sauvignon blanc have been planted for white wine. The second wine from the winery is called Pavillon rouge. The white wine "Pavillon Blanc" is considered the best white wine of the Médoc. Since 2009, Château Margaux also produces a third wine called "Margaux du Château Margaux". This third wine has been made since 1997, but until 2009 it was always sold in bulk to other wine producers. As one of the largest and best known producers in the Margaux, Chateau Margaux produces an average of 25,000 cases of their Grand vin.
The white wine from this great winery is made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc. A fairly light but fine vintage Pavillon Blanc. In general, white wines performed better than red wines in the Bordeaux region because the harvest was completed before the rains started in October. To enjoy now. The weather was unsettled all year round. Hot weather and dry conditions never really occurred, except for a ten-day period in September when it was very hot. The harvest started relatively late under difficult conditions with frequent rain showers. Fortunately it was cold, which prevented rot from developing. (Picking started on October 5).
