Johanniter

Ohanniter is a white grape variety. The grape was bred in 1968 by Johannes Zimmermann of the Viticulture Institute in Freiburg as fungus-resistant. It is the result of crosses between Riesling, Seyve-villard, Ruländer, and Gutedel. The grape is named after the grower because, as head of the Freiburger Institute, he had such foresight when it came to fungus-resistant grape varieties.
