Ansonica
Ansonica
The Ansonica is actually similar to the Sicilian Inzolia grape - an authentic grape from the island of Sicily. It is one of the oldest Sicilian vines. Around 1600, the grape was also transferred to the Tuscan islands of Elba and Giglio. This is also where the grape was planted for the production of white wines. In these regions the grapes are more commonly known under the name Ansonica so we have a Sicilian Inzolia and a Gigilio Ansonica which are actually 2 names for the same grape.
