Oloroso is a sherry that matures without flor. To prevent flor formation, the wine is immediately fortified until
17% alc. This gives the Oloroso its structure and dark mahogany-like color. The grapes all come from a single vineyard in Pago de Añina y Macharnudo on lbariza soil (limestone); a single vineyard located in the DOC Jerez-Xérès-Sherry region. The Juan Piñero Amontillado is made from 100% Palomino Fino grapes and aged for 12 years.

This Juan Piñero Oloroso Great Duke 12 Years is a powerful sherry. On the nose, this Oloroso Great Duke is nutty and spicy with notes of candied orange, balsamic vinegar, tobacco, truffle, and leather. On the palate, the sherry is dry and powerful with toasted notes. It's well-structured and has a very long, powerful finish. Delicious with aged cheeses, mushrooms, beef and game stews, and perfect with authentic Belotta Jamom. Store in a cool, dark place for 4 to 6 weeks after opening.
