Description

The vineyards entitled to the Champagne appellation are spread over 319 municipalities. Only 17 of these municipalities are entitled to the Grand Cru appellation because their terroir is of the highest quality. The grapes from those terroirs are very popular, rare and relatively expensive. They are used almost exclusively in the composition of the Cuvée prestige wines of the major champagne houses.

The Champagne Mailly Grand Cru Brut Rosé de Mailly is made from 90% Pinot Noir and 10% Chardonnay. The wine is rosé in color with a nice mousse. The wine shows beautiful aromas of red fruit, red currants, raspberries and strawberries fill the nose and mouth. A generous structure and delicate mousse please the aftertaste.

Mailly was founded in 1929 by a group of winegrowers who decided to produce emphatically rich wines, exclusively from grapes from the Grand Cru vineyards of Champagne. The vineyards entitled to the Champagne appellation are spread over 319 municipalities. Only 17 of these municipalities are entitled to the Grand Cru appellation because their terroir is of the highest quality. The grapes from those terroirs are very popular, rare, and relatively expensive. They are used almost exclusively in the composition of the Cuvée prestige wines of the major champagne houses. Mailly Champagne is run by a new generation of winegrowers who cherish the same independence as the founders. The 70 hectares of vineyards they own are divided among 25 families and together form one Grand Cru vineyard. The special treatment of the grapes from the various plots results in a wide range of different wines. Mailly uses only two of the three permitted grape varieties: Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Because their Pinot Noir thrives in the Montagne de Reims, the emphasis is on this. Mailly offers beautiful high-quality champagnes that combine very well not only as an aperitif but also with a meal.
