Origin & winery

The wine comes from the renowned family business Zenato, located in the western part of the province of Verona. Their vineyards are situated around the Santa Cristina estate, where the mild climate and the cooling influence of Lake Garda create optimal conditions for Chardonnay. Zenato has been known for decades for its combination of tradition and modern winemaking techniques.

The Santa Cristina vineyards are situated on light, calcareous soils with excellent drainage. The location benefits from sunny days and cool nights, allowing the grapes to retain their natural acidity. This terroir ensures aromatic precision and an elegant structure – characteristic of Zenato's style.

Grape & vinification of Zenato Santa Cristina Chardonnay

The wine is made from 100% Chardonnay. After the harvest, the grapes are gently pressed and fermented at a low temperature in stainless steel tanks to preserve the fresh fruit notes. A short aging on the fine lees provides extra creaminess and texture, without the wine losing its lively character.

Flavor profile & tasting note

In the glass, clear straw yellow with a light green tint. The nose is expressive with aromas of ripe apple, peach, citrus, and a hint of hazelnut. On the palate, fresh and harmonious, with lively acidity, a soft texture, and an elegant finish in which mineral notes and fruit come together perfectly.

This effort results, partly also through the use of authentic Italian grape varieties, in a very fine range of special wines of very high quality. Azienda Zenato has approximately 70 hectares of vineyards in Lugana and Valpolicella Classico.
