PRE-SALE OFFER-EXPECTED MAY 2026
Unique & Exclusive to the Netherlands is this fresh and refined Sangiovese rosé from Montepulciano, with precision and elegance. Only around 5,000-600 bottles are produced, and more than 95% of these remain in Tuscany.
Poliziano Winery
Poliziano is a fixture of Montepulciano and is known for its clear, terroir-driven wines. The estate combines modern techniques with a strong focus on origin and grape expression. With the introduction of this rosé, Poliziano demonstrates that Sangiovese also translates excellently into a fresh, refined style. More information about this winery can be found under the Winery tab.
Origin and vineyard
The grapes come from the Lodola zone near Valiano, close to Montepulciano, from vineyards approximately 10 years old. :contentReference[oaicite:0]{index=0}
The vineyards are situated at an altitude of approximately 300 meters, which ensures sufficient freshness and aromatic precision in the grapes. :contentReference[oaicite:1]{index=1}
The combination of altitude and the Tuscan sun results in a rosé with both ripe fruit and lively acidity.
Grapes and style
This rosé is made from 100% Sangiovese.
The choice for direct pressing results in a light color and a refined style, with an emphasis on freshness, aromatic purity, and drinkability.
Vinification and aging
After gentle pressing of destemmed grapes, fermentation follows in stainless steel tanks, aimed at preserving freshness and fruit expression.
The wine subsequently ages for 6 months in steel tanks and another 3 months in the bottle, which ensures extra balance and refinement. No wood is used, allowing the wine to retain its pure and direct character.
Color, smell and taste
In the glass, the wine has a light, elegant rosé color. The nose is fresh and refined with notes of strawberry, raspberry, and a hint of citrus.
On the palate, the wine is crisp and lively, with a beautiful balance between fruit and acidity. The structure is light yet precise, with a refreshing and clean finish.
Style and character
This rosé is crafted to showcase finesse and purity. It combines the recognizable structure of Sangiovese with a light and accessible style.
The result is a gastronomic rosé with character, which clearly shows its Tuscan origins without becoming heavy.
Volume 2025
The 2025 vintage in Tuscany experienced a balanced growing season, with warm days and cool nights. This ensured good ripening while retaining fresh acidity. For rosé, this translates into a style that is both aromatic and energetic, with beautiful tension and precision.
Food and wine pairings
This rosé is versatile. Think of light dishes such as salads, grilled vegetables, fish, or shellfish. It also comes into its own with charcuterie or Mediterranean dishes. Serve at around 8 to 10 degrees for optimal freshness.

Frederico Carletti, the current owner of Azienda Agricola Poliziano, is responsible for a revolutionary change. Carletti has turned Poliziano into a real wine-producing company, which produces and bottles its own wines. He went to Piemonte to learn the profession of an enologist at the university. He then did internships with various wine producers to gain the necessary practical experience. Then it was time to realize his childhood dream. Since taking office in 1981, the company's star has risen rapidly. His innovations included the planting of new grapes such as Cabernet Sauvignon, as well as the creation of new wines, such as Le Stanze, Elegia and a Riserva from separate vineyards, such as the Vigna Asinone. With these showpieces, Carletti has won the hearts of wine lovers and has won numerous prizes at international competitions. Poliziano is now widely regarded as one of the great pioneers of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano.
