Persoonlijke gegevens
Marimorena is an indigenous grape variety that is very well adapted to the granite and clay soils of the area, which, together with the region's microclimate, makes it so unique. The Albariño grape is the king (or queen) of grapes in Galicia, and the finest wines made from this grape come from the Rias Baixas. The Albariño harvest is carried out carefully by hand. The grapes come from vineyards facing the south of Galicia, bordered by the Miño River and traversed by the Tea River, which crosses the region from north to south. After careful selection, the grapes arrive in the cellar early in the morning for a cold pre-fermentation on the skins for 10 hours. Following alcoholic fermentation at an average temperature of 13 degrees, the wine undergoes sur lie aging for over 4 months on fine lees.
The Casa Rojo La Marimorena has a beautiful and bright lemon-yellow color. On the nose, it is frank and intense with floral aromas and very intense citrus aromas with hints of stone fruit. On the palate, it is very refreshing, with a very present yet balanced freshness thanks to the volume it develops in the mouth. The finish is elegant and persistent. This is an Albiriño as it should be, with beautiful lively acidity and a fantastic briny Atlantic sea injection, and this wine therefore calls for seafood such as oysters and mussels. This is also a wine that ages well for a few years thanks to its beautiful acidity.

ABOUT CASA ROJO
“THE MOST IMPORTANT VIRTUE OF A WINE IS BALANCE” LAURA MUÑOZ-ROJO – At Casa Rojo, they make wines with which José Luis and Laura feel a sense of identification. They have the good fortune and luxury of being able to produce in the regions where their roots lie and which they admire, using the two grapes they are passionate about: Tinta Fina (Tempranillo) in the continental climate of La Ribera del Duero and Monastrell in our Mediterranean homeland, Tierra de Murcia. Recently, unique white grapes from Ribero-Galicia have been added, such as Verdejo, Albariño, and Sauvignon Blanc. Casa Rojo’s vision is clear: “A wine must be a maximum expression of the soil, the grapes, and the local climate.”
Casa Rojo has been active since 2010, making it a relatively young company, but by now Casa Rojo wines are available in over 40 countries, including the USA, Singapore, Italy, France, the Netherlands, Mexico, Japan, Hong Kong, Australia, Sweden, Switzerland, etc., and demand exceeds supply. This is not surprising, as the quality of the wines, the stories behind them, and the presentation are truly unique.

90/100
90 punten Wine Enthusiast: “Aromas of white flowers, straw, raw granite, apple and melon are welcoming and happy. Overall, this has a fresh outlook and a stony base to the palate. Flavors of melon, stone fruit, white flowers and lees finish slightly creamy, but with depth and vital acidity.”
