Fresh and refined Burgundy Pinot Noir with pure red fruit and a light, elegant structure.

Regent Winery

Régnard is one of the older names in Burgundy and was founded in 1860. The house is known for its classic style, focusing on precision, pure fruit, and accessibility. Within the range, the emphasis lies on terroir-driven wines with a clear, unforced expression.

Origin and style of the Régnard Bougrogne Pinot Noir

The Bourgogne Pinot Noir comes from the broader Burgundy appellation, where Pinot Noir reveals its purest and most recognizable form. Here, the focus is not on power, but on finesse, freshness, and drinkability. The wine reflects the cool climate and chalky soils that provide tension and elegance.

This is a classic Burgundy in style: light-footed, transparent, and focused on pure fruit, with sufficient structure to remain interesting.

Vinification

The grapes are carefully harvested and selected. Vinification takes place with a focus on preserving freshness and fruit expression, primarily in stainless steel tanks. As a result, the character of the grape remains central and oak influence is kept to a minimum.

The result is a pure and accessible wine, in which the typicality of Pinot Noir and the style of Burgundy clearly come to the fore.

Color, smell and taste

In the glass, bright ruby red. The nose is open and fruit-driven, with notes of cherry, raspberry, and redcurrant, complemented by light spiciness and a subtle earthy nuance.

On the palate, smooth and fresh, with juicy red fruit and soft tannins. The structure is light to medium, with a nice balance between fruit and acidity. The finish is clean and slightly spicy, with an elegant, fresh length.

Structure and drinking window

This Bourgogne Pinot Noir is meant to be drunk young, when the fruit is still prominent. At the same time, the wine has sufficient balance to develop for several years. A drinking window of approximately 2025 to 2028 seems logical.

Food and wine pairings

Thanks to its fresh and light style, this wine is very versatile at the table. Classic pairings include poultry such as chicken or duck, but veal and light meat dishes also work well.

Additionally, this Pinot Noir pairs well with grilled fish, salmon, or vegetarian dishes with mushrooms. The fresh acidity and soft structure make the wine versatile.

Régnard is one of the oldest and most prestigious wineries in Burgundy. It was founded in 1860 by Zéphir Régnard and in 1984, Baron Patrick de Ladoucette took over the domain, restoring and perpetuating the style and tradition of the wines. Régnard produces 7 Grand Crus Chablis (Les Clos, Bougros, Blanchots, Grenouilles, Preuses, Valmur and Vaudésir), 5 Premier Crus (Fourchaume, Montmains, Vaillons, Montée de Tonnerre and Mont de Milieu), Chablis and Petit Chablis. In 1992, the Baron created a special cuvée called Grand Régnard, made from a selection of grapes from the best vineyards in Chablis, presented in a remarkably beautiful bottle, inspired by an old model from the 17th century.
