Dumanet wines are the house wines of several Michelin-starred restaurants. Due to the condition of being allowed to carry these wines, we are not allowed to disclose the names of these restaurants, but they are well-known names, and we can certainly understand why people enjoy working with Dumanet wines. The quality is excellent, the price is very attractive, and the style in which the wines are made makes them highly appreciated by almost everyone.

For lovers of oak-aged Chardonnay wines, and those who appreciate that buttery touch in Chardonnay, we highly recommend this white Dumanet Chardonnay Reserve. The grapes come from old vineyards in Pay D'oc, situated on soil rich in limestone and gravel. These vines thrive in a perfect climate with warm days, not too many overripe grapes, and the proximity of the sea and the constant breeze provide ample cooling in the evenings and nights.

After harvest, the wine is first cooled to allow it to settle and then gently pressed. This ensures that Dumanet obtains only the finest and purest juice. Afterward, some of the wine is aged in oak barrels and the rest in stainless steel, giving this Chardonnay its strength and suppleness while retaining its freshness. After this period, the wine is aged for a total of eight months in the bottle in Dumanet's cellar before it can be sold.

In the glass, this Dumanet Chardonnay Reserve has a bright straw-yellow color with notes of pear and yellow apple on the nose, beautifully lush and broad, with a hint of vanilla. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied yet refreshingly soft and easygoing, dry but not at all astringent. The finish is smooth and creamy, with a lingering aftertaste.

FACT : The label depicts two men cycling, evoking the beautiful bike rides through the vineyards. In the past, the winemaker would cycle through the vineyards with the idea of one day making a top-notch wine. Well, many years later, they've succeeded.

WINE AND FOOD SUGGESTIONS:

  • Chicken fillet with creamy mushroom sauce and parsley
The creamy sauce complements the round body of the wine beautifully, while the fresh acidity provides balance.

  • Pasta with zucchini, lemon and Parmesan cheese
The fresh citrus notes and soft mouthfeel of the wine combine well with the light vegetables and savoury cheese.

  • Baked salmon with dill and lemon butter
The fatty structure of the salmon is nicely supported by the ripe fruit and the light woody note of the wine.

  • Quiche with leek, bacon and old cheese
The savory and creamy quiche pairs perfectly with the Chardonnay, which offers both freshness and a touch of richness.

  • Roast turkey with a white wine and tarragon sauce
The juiciness of the turkey and the spicy sauce complement the structure and aromatic richness of the wine beautifully.

  • Scallops with cauliflower cream and beurre noisette
The soft, buttery flavours of the dish are elegantly supported by the roundness, finesse and subtle oak influence of the Chardonnay.
