Description
For many years, the Santa Christina estate has been owned by the Zenato family. The estate is located about 25 km west of the northern Italian city of Verona, in the province of Veneto. The vineyards cover 40 ha. and are located on the best plots of the Lugana area. The optimal location in relation to the sun, the ideal soil composition, sufficient rainfall and the relatively low night temperatures ensure that the grapes ripen very well and evenly here and are therefore eminently suitable for the production of high-quality wines.
The Zenato Santa Cristina Chardonnay is made with 100 percent Chardonnay grapes, Vinification begins with cooling the grapes, which allows the winemaker to fully extract the aromatics. The must, obtained by a soft pressing, is then clarified and transferred to stainless steel tanks where alcoholic fermentation is carried out at low temperatures (15-17 ° C) for about 15 days. In the glass, Zenato Santa Cristina Chardonnay has a straw yellow color with aromas of hawthorn flower and cherry blossom on the nose that gradually develop into notes of green apple and apricot with delicate hints of dried fruit, hazelnut and almond. On the nose, the wine is balanced with accessible lemon aromas that balance the expressiveness of the variety.
