Description
The Lagar da Condessa Albarino is the top model of the wine company of the same name, which is part of Gil Family Estates. Naturally made from the finest Albariño grapes grown in a vineyard planted on largely granite soils, with some chalk and clay. The vineyard, Lagar da Condesa, is located in the Valle do Salnés, Galicia. A very well structured wine, with an intense mouth filling that exhibits the character of this mythical grape in every step of the tasting. The grapes are picked by hand in small containers of 15 kg. After a careful selection and destemming process, the juice remains in contact with the peels for a short period at low temperatures and is finally gently pressed. Part of the must was fermented in French oak barrels of 500 and 600 liters and the rest in oval concrete tanks of 1,600 liters at controlled temperatures, remaining in contact with the lees (sur lei) for about 4 months.
In the glass, the Lagar da Condessa has a light straw yellow color with a gold-green tinge. Aromas of apples and pears infused with delicious aromas of lemon with a hint of honey, beautifully focused and mineral. The attack is rich and broad, packed with ripe citrus concentrations, dense and fleshy, very good acidity with a long finish. This is a fantastic Albarino (91/100 Vinous) that could have aged without any problems given the nice acidity.
This white wine is an ideal accompaniment to all types of fish, shellfish, white meat, vegetables, rice and salads.

About Lagar Da Condesa
It is not surprising that Julio Cortázar wrote down his desire to return to the Rías Baixas. This land of Gaelic lyricism, pilgrims, ancestral stones and thermal waters protects the countryside from old Albariño vines and produces very refined white wines. The native grapes are located on sandy and granite soils that have become porous due to frequent rainfall. The southwest-facing aspect of the vines begs for the sun to ripen the bunches of grapes. With the nearby murmur of the Umia River and its waterfall, the grapes are harvested by hand, just at the moment when they concentrate all their varietal character.
