Description
Three young but already very famous winemakers - Fernando Garcia ( Bodegas Marañones ), Daniel Gómez Jimenez Landi ( Bodegas Jimenez Landi ) and Marc Isart ( Bodegas Bernaveleva ) - are responsible for the Command G. with the aim of further developing the Madrid Region de Grenache grape to develop. All three winemakers make Top Grenaches under their individual labels that can compete with the famous Chateaneuf wines, especially when you consider the price. The area is ideal for the Grenache (high, warm during the day with significant cooling, large limestone soil).
The Laderas del Tiétar Garnacha is a beautiful and new project by the Garnacha specialists of Comando G and Bernabeleva and, in collaboration with the cooperative of the village of Cadalso de los Vidriose, a number of very old plots with old Grenache vines are being cultivated and vinified again. , just like their grandfathers did. This is a real 'vin de soif' that can be enjoyed chilled. The vinification is therefore classic and, as it used to be, fermentation mainly involves whole bunches and a short maceration. Little intervention and work according to gravity and nothing with pumps. This Garnacha fermented in concrete with native yeasts and matures in concrete for seven months. Harvesting takes place exclusively from biodynamically treated vineyards as is done at Comando G.
In the glass, the Laderas del Tiétar Garnacha is burgundy red in color with a red-pink sheen - almost like a Pinot Noir from a cool climate. On the nose we get an explosion of red fruit, including red berries, wild strawberries and northern cherries. Beautiful and fresh attack with fine acidity that gives the wine a lot of freshness and character. In recent years the wine has gained a lot of seriousness; much more mineral and a reflection of the elegant Garnacha and the house style of Marc Isart as you can see at Maranones, Comando G and Bernabeleva .

The 2019 Laderas del Tiétar shows quite well for a year marked by wildfires, when many wines showed some smoky notes. It has the 2019 tannin and a faint touch of ripeness but with good balance and relative freshness. It's still quite approachable and easy to drink, with a straightforward, fruit-driven character. 6,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in April 2021.

in Spain for one of those Japanese cartoon series of the 80s. Daniel Landi and his friends have used this and Comando G stands for Comado Grenache where their mission is to make the best Grenache in the world. This is one of the most exciting new projects in Spain!
