2022 Château Trotte Vieille Saint-Émilion Grand Cru

The Trotte Vieille 2022 is deep garnet purple in colour. The first impression is WOW! It bursts from the glass with showy notes of ripe black plums, mulberries and blackberry tart, followed by hints of candied violets, cedar chestnut, cinnamon stick and clove oil. The medium to full-bodied palate delivers electric excitement, with super-fine satin tannins and intense layers of black fruit and baking spices, with a long and fragrant finish.

Trotte Vieille has probably delivered its best wine of the past few years with the 2022 vintage. Almost all reviewers agree, with very good scores for the wine. This year, the winery is working for the first time from the brand new cellars that they opened last year - 50% Cabernet Franc, 45% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon.
