Winning doesn't always mean being first. Winning means you try to do better than you've ever done before. This is the winemaker's tagline and explains the title and also the fantastic label. And the Winner is... is made from a mosaic of organic vineyards that represent the diversity and particularity of soils, exposures and altitudes in the Penedès region.

Celler Credo has entered into partnerships with top growers in the Penedès region with whom we share values ​​and a commitment to sustainable viticulture, rooted in respect for identity, territory and landscape.
All Celler Credo grapes are harvested by hand to ensure accurate selection of the fruit and guarantee its excellent quality. We also pay great attention to the ripening of the grapes with the aim of producing wines with natural, fresh acids.

The Celler Credo And the Winner is... is a blend of mainly Xarel·lo supplemented with Macabeu (Blanc des Noirs from Monastrell) and Parellada. These varieties have historically defined the essence of Penedès, especially the Xarel·lo variety. Recaredo, the owner of Celler Credo, is a strong advocate of working mainly with grapes that naturally occur in the area. The grapes are grown according to the principles of organic viticulture and are harvested by hand to ensure accurate selection of the fruit and guarantee its excellent quality. Furthermore, great care is taken in the ripening of the grapes with the aim of producing wines with natural, fresh acidity with the aim of achieving an expressive and balanced wine. Priority is given to vineyards with low yields without irrigation, an approach that gives our wines their characteristic Mediterranean identity while ensuring responsible management of scarce water resources. The must fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks on indigenous yeasts isolated from the Celler Credo vineyards, an essential element for producing true terroir wines. And the winner is... can contain natural sediments through our minimal intervention.

The wine is fermented and matured in stainless steel and remains in contact with lees for several months. In the glass the wine has a beautiful light straw yellow color. Very pure and delicate on the nose with soft notes of mineral yeast from sur lie ripening, wild flowers and herbs, soft white fruit and a little fennel. Fresh, beautifully dry in the mouth with again the white fruit and a mineral touch in the aftertaste. A delicious, fresh, elegant white vin naturale wine (so minimal added sulphites) with a perfect price/quality.

Celler Credo by Recaredo
A project by Recaredo, for which a few plots have been purchased to make this vin natural wines. The aim is to create a pure expression of the Xarel.lo through the use of different ripening and fermentation methods. A special pure style wine, great for wine/food combinations!

The following facts testify that serious efforts are being made to make this great wine extremely sustainable

  • Only 12% alcohol - so in keeping with the modern style of good wine with less alcohol
  • Sulphites only 44 mg/l (150 mg/l is allowed by the EU for organic/organic white wines)
  • Residual sugar only 0.5 g/l
  • Vegan wines are therefore not clarified with animal proteins
  • EcoBottle of 390 gr (Less weight, less impact on the carbon footprint
  • Organic farming - Certified Organic by CCPAE

Recaredo Corpinnat is without doubt a reference for long-aged cavas and, together with Mestres and Gramona, is considered the Grandcru and the top of the cavas. Recaredo also has a silent white wine project and these wines are made under the Celler Credo name. Celler Credo or 'free-of-mind' label from Recaredo. With these still white wines, the Recaredo team discovers what is possible with Xarel.lo from different teroirs and vinification methods.

Impeccable Vins Natural! Recaredo has acquired a number of (very) special vineyards in the Penedès region for the production of refined natural wines. The aim is a pure expression of Xarel.lo where different fermentation methods and maturation processes are used. The wines are made by the well-known winemakers Nuria Arteaga and Ton Mata and they know exactly how to strike the right chord and make particularly pure and energetic wines from Xarel.lo, whereby the wines, as also with the Cavas from Recaredo, have become benchmark wines for ' nature' style Xarel.lo in the Penedès. Aged on the lees, macerated with the skin or stems of the grape, without the addition of sulphites – modern techniques or techniques learned from our grandparents... In short, a thousand and one ways to interpret Xarel-lo. In other words, Xarel-lo is the Credo.
