Description
The Language of Yes Syrah from the Rancho Réal Vineyard 2021 is a blend of 86% Syrah and 14% Viognier aged in French barriques. It bursts with aromas of blackcurrant, ground pepper, thyme, bitter chocolate and violet, opening up to further nuances as it spends time in the glass. The medium-bodied flavor is soft and chalky with delicious acidity. Very layered with crunchy fruit, The Language of Yes Syrah has a long finish full of spicy and savory notes. The fantastic freshness makes this wine extremely drinkable. A Rhone in terms of grape, but from the Santa Maria Valley, the Southern Californian equal to the Burgundian Côte d'Or.
FACT: The wine is in our conditioned Wine Warehouse and if you pick up the wine you will often receive a nice discount . You will see your discount immediately when you choose 'Collect' on the checkout page. We are located in Dordrecht almost next to the A16 with plenty of parking. Click here for our address.
About Santa Maria Valley
South of the city of Santa Barbara lies the Santa Maria Valley, the southern Californian equivalent to Burgundian Côte d'Or. Don't expect sunny beaches and palm trees here like you would see in Santa Barbara. Strong sea breezes, fueled by a unique transverse (east-to-west) landscape, rivers flowing into the Pacific Ocean and low-lying fog that lasts until noon keep things on the cool side here. The colder temperatures are perfect for growing cold climate varieties, which in turn will retain their full fruit character and freshness.
Compared to the archetypal Californian Pinot Noir country Sonoma, the region's longer growing season gives the fruit time to develop greater maturity and finer aromas, which are enhanced by light aging in oak barrels. Pinot Noir, Grenache and Syrah are the central varieties for red wines, which are produced in a very Californian style, similar to red wines from Burgundy or Northern Rhône. Chardonnay, meanwhile, leads the white wine charts. The intense and deep fruitiness is what determines the character of the region.

Real syrah here with berry, smoke, earth and grilled meat character. Medium-bodied with polished tannins and a flavorful finish. Sleek and toned. Some crushed stone, too.
