Description
The Vigne Surrau winery overlooks over 50 hectares of vineyards. The project interprets the cellar as a workshop that transforms a product of the land through visible processes, guaranteeing authenticity and quality. The architectural project is the result of a harmonious exploration between building and nature. The building is essentially realized through a series of transparent facades and local stone walls that blend seamlessly with the land. The characteristics of the soil, combined with the unique climate—plenty of sunshine and a constant breeze—make Gallura one of the best places to grow grapes in Sardinia. The vineyards are southeastern and enjoy the Mediterranean climate. The wind ensures the grapes stay healthy, and the presence of the sea makes them extra juicy. At Surrau, they work with respect for people and nature, minimizing intervention. Their motto is that good wine must come from a good, healthy vineyard.
This is a fantastic Vermentino, an elegant and highly complex Vermentino di Gallura Superiore with an intense floral, fruity bouquet and fresh notes of tropical fruit. Very taut and balanced on the palate, beautifully tight, juicy, and salty, with a long, elegant finish, great complexity, and persistence.
In the Gambero Rosso rewarded with the maximum number of 3 glasses
"Bright straw yellow. Fragrantly expressive of tropical fruits, melon, banana and slightly floral undertones, also citrus. Very taut and balanced on the palate, tightens up nicely, juicy and salty, with a long, elegant finish, great complexity, with persistence." FALSTAFF

Vigne Surrau is located on the Costa Smeralda, the symbol of the famous entrance of Galurra and is the project of the Demuro family. This project is the result of a harmonious collaboration between nature and humans. Respect for nature and people are paramount and that is how the wines are grown. Minimal intervention and good wine comes from healthy vineyards.
Surrau's vineyards, covering about 50 hectares, are located in the east of Gallura, a few kilometers from the sea, in sunny valleys cherished by the Mistral wind. Surrau is a young and innovative company with an old soul, whose core values lie in both tradition and innovation. The tradition of choosing traditional grape varieties and the innovation we find in winemaking, using advanced equipment and experimenting in oenological terms. The grape varieties grown are Vermentino, Cannonau, Carignano, Muristellu, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah, with all the work in the vineyards being done manually.
Vigne Surrau is located a few kilometers from the sea, in East Gallura, where the bottom consists of granite rocks formed by wind and water. The subsoil consists mainly of granite and sand, and is rich in fossils. This makes it an excellent soil for growing grapes, as the tendrils can root deeply. This creates fragrant, pleasant wines with a good alcohol percentage. The characteristics of the soil, combined with the unique climate, lots of sun and constant wind, make Gallura one of the best places to grow grapes in Sardinia. The vineyards have a south-eastern location and enjoy the Mediterranean climate. The wind ensures that the grapes remain healthy and thanks to the presence of the sea, the grapes become extra juicy.
