The Cabernet-Sauvignon grape has now gained a strong foothold in the Languedoc. It always takes some time to find the right substrate, but in places with poorer soil this grape ripens under almost ideal conditions. The grapes come from vineyards around the cities of Narbonne, Beziers and Montpellier. The climate here is warm enough to allow the cabernet skins to ripen properly, so that the wine from this classic Bordeaux grape has a wonderfully round and supple character. It is made on its fruit, with a lot of strength and nice flexibility. Classic, yet beautifully ripe and soft. A successful example of what the Pays d'Oc has to offer in terms of tasty red.
The Dumanet Merlot has a medium ruby red color in the glass. In the nose and a hint of laurel and licorice in the scent, fine pepper, sultry and open, wonderfully fragrant, pleasant temptation. In the mouth the wine is spicy, with an elegant style, jam, warm and slightly peppery, nice and round and wonderfully smooth.
FACT : The label depicts 2 men cycling, reminiscent of the beautiful bike rides through the vineyards. In the past, the winemaker cycled through the vineyards with the thought of one day turning them into a top wine, well, he succeeded so many years later.
