Description
Pierre Morey's Bourgogne Blanc comes from 1.76 hectares of vines that have an average age of 40 years. All of Pierre Morey's Burgundy "Chardonnay" vines are located in the Meursault area, in relatively deep clay and chalk soils. The wines are fleshy and well structured. Despite the early opening of this appellation, the accuracy and quality of production ensure good maturation, with the majority of the vines located close to the appellation's immediate village.
The 2020-2021 season started quietly with fairly dry last months of 2020. The start of 2021 was strong with not too high temperatures. Lots of drought until the end of March, when temperatures started to rise. Unfortunately, 4 nights of freezing in April caused a lot of damage to the sticks. The yield for the 2021 vintage is therefore considerably low. Yet a nice balance has been found in this wine that you cannot easily find in other years. The grapes were picked from September 16 to the 24th.
