Cloud Break comes from the cradle of American wine culture: California. The fruit comes from O'Neill Vintners and Distillers' own vineyards and from grape growers with whom long-term contracts have been concluded. Under the leadership of winemaker Mark Rasmussen, the emphasis in Cloud Break wines is on structure, fruit aromas and the use of oak without being overpowering. California has developed into a fully-fledged wine country, where 90% of American wine is produced. The wine regions in California spread across the entire state, from San Diego in the south to Mendocino in the north. New vinification techniques are used on a large scale. However, this certainly does not detract from the quality of the wine. The level of Californian wine is very consistent and of very high quality. Zinfandel is the proud grape for the red wines from California. The grape is mainly used to produce a wide range of quality wines.
