In April 2022, the Premier Cru Classé Sauternes winery Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey will release the Lafaurie-Peyraguey Grand Vin Sec Bordeaux Blanc. This extremely beautiful white wine is the dry counterpart of Sauternes In the past, Lafaurie-Peyraguey already made a dry, white wine and the winery has been doing this again for several years. For this wine, vines are used that are not used for the Sauternes: they are old vines that are very suitable for dry vinification. The blend consists of 51% Sauvignon Blanc and 49% Semillon. This dry white wine is made in the style of the better white wines from Pessac-Léognan and can also compete with that level of quality. Think exotic fruit, creamy notes of wood aging and a constantly exciting freshness. This bottle is also decorated with an engraving by René Lalique.

Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey is a very old wine producer with an estate of 36 hectares. It is located in the heart of the Sauternes region just outside the village of Bommes. Maisons Rouges (part of Lafaurie-Peyraguey) was a Roman staging post and the oldest stonework of the perimeter wall and entrance, believed to be the oldest structure in the commune of Bommes, dating from the 13th century. The archival materials kept at the castle testify to the rich heritage of Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey, preserved for eight centuries of history! Wine has been made on this estate since 1618.
