The best Chardonnay wines traditionally come from French Burgundy. But Ca'del Bosco proves that this high level can also be achieved elsewhere with this Curtefranco Chardonnay Corte del Lupo. The appellation for this Chardonnay is Curtefranco which has a lot in common with that of Burgundy in terms of terroir

The Corte del Lupo is a blend of Chardonnay 80%, Pinot Bianco 20% coming from vineyards with an average age of 30 years located in the municipality of Erbusco, Cazzago San Martino and the municipality of Passirano. The grapes are harvested in the last week of August. only the most beautiful fruit is used for the Lupo and the yield is (deliberately) low and around 6000 kg per hectare. The other (lesser) fruit is sold.

The Corte del Lupo Bianco is a white wine in the style of Ca 'del Bosco. The perfect marriage: the scent of Chardonnay grapes and the elegance of Pinot Bianco. In accordance with the Ca' del Bosco method, the grapes are picked by hand and placed in small crates on which a code is immediately stamped, just before they are allowed to recover from the scare in the cold store. Only the free-run juice is used for this wine, of which about 1/4 is aged in small oak barrels, used the year before for the Chardonnay. The remaining must is fermented in steel vats. After 6 months of aging on their lees, without malolactic fermentation, the chardonnay and pinot blanc are blended. The wine is then bottled in the most natural way in gravity. No sulfites are added at this stage to ensure integrity and health. Finally, each bottle is marked with a unique code to ensure traceability. Beautiful light straw yellow in the glass with a pallet of scents in the nose including some apple (green), white flowers, citrus. These flavors are also reflected in the mouth and the elegance is particularly striking. Very light wood, nice acidity and minerality. Again a beautiful wine from Ca'del Bosco.

House in the woods, that means Ca'del Bosco. That is exactly what the mother of current owner Maurizio Zanella was looking for more than fifty years ago to escape the bustle of Milan. In the hills west of Brescia there were also some vineyards that the young Maurizio took care of without much interest. During a study trip in Burgundy, he saw the light at the famous Domaine de la Romanée-Conti. Heavily impressed, he borrowed money from the bank back home in Lombardy and started making wine at the age of 18. A fairytale of a little cabin in the woods in the 1960s that grew into one of Italy's most outstanding wine companies. Ca'del Bosco's Franciacorta sparkling wines have become a famous international brand, which can easily compete with Champagne. But his red and white wines are now also among the top.

In the area of Franciacorta, between Brescia and Bergamo, near Lake Iseo is the great winery Ca 'del Bosco located. This winery belongs to the absolute top and produces great Franciacorta of such a quality that many renowned champagne houses can draw a tip. In addition to the Franciacorta Brut Cuvee Prestige, Ca 'del Bosco has a whole range of absolute top wines such as the curtefranco rosso and curtefranco bianco, as well as the very scarce Ca' del Bosco Pinéro del Sebino, which is based on pinot noir and is highly recommended. chardonnay de Ca 'del Bosco Chardonnay Terre di Franciacorta DOC.

The mountains and the lake have a beneficial effect on the wine. The soil and the same grape varieties as in champagne ensure that this wine has become a formidable competitor to the well-known champagnes. Bottle aging is done for 25 to 37 months, creating very elegant, internationally appreciated wine. It is a blend of young and reserve wines. Nicely dry and fruity, fresh, sweet, elegant wine with a fine persistent perlage. Ca 'del Bosco is owned by Maurizio Zanella, one of the main producers in the area, if not all of Italy. Zanella played a major role in the Italian wine renaissance of the past decades. Zanella's work led to the Franciacorta area gaining DOCG status in 1995. This status only applies to sparkling wines according to the metodo tradizionale (the way French Champagne is made).

With no less than 30 times the maximum score in the Gambero Rosso, Ca 'Del Bosco is one of the most appreciated and successful wineries in Italy. The company is located in a spectacular modern building, beautifully situated in the hills and surrounded by 160 ha of vineyard. Art plays a major role there. The most modern techniques are used in the cellars.
