2022 Baglio del Cristo di Campobello Terre Siciliane CDC Bianco

The Baglio del Cristo di Campobello C'D'C' Rosso comes from Sicily, Italy. Baglio del Cristo is now seen as one of the best wineries in Sicily, where Sicily is currently seen as a strongly emerging Italian wine region. In 2000, the Bonetta brothers started the first plantings of grape vines in Agrigento. The family wanted to make their dream come true, making wines of the highest quality. This was quite successful, the wines were launched on the market in 2009 and immediately won prizes.

The vineyards are located on a hilly terrain, at an altitude between 230 and 260 meters above sea level. After destemming, the temperature of the grapes is reduced to 8-10ºC for maceration. A light pressing follows, after which the must is separated and decanted by the process of natural sedimentation at low temperature.

This Bianco from Baglio del Cristo spends four months on its own lees in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks and then spends at least 2 months in the bottle before we receive the wine. The CDC stands for Cristo di Campobello and is a blend of Grillo, Chardonnay, Insolia, Cataratto. This wonderfully pleasant white wine is full of scents and flavors of white flowers, melon and light citrus. The wine is elegant and refreshing and slightly spicy at the end, which also makes it suitable for gastronomic use. The wine is very well balanced with good acidity and a soft texture. This Baglio Bianco is delicious to drink as a standalone glass, but also excellent with white meat such as chicken and of course delicious with grilled or fried fish.
