Amarone is a true gem in the Zenato wine range. It is made from excellent Corvina, Rondinella, Oselta, and Croatina grapes, sourced from the Valpolicella Classico region encompassing the municipalities of Sant'Ambrogio, Negrar, Pedemonte, Fumane, San Pietro in Cariano, and Marano. Hand-harvested and selected, the grapes are then left to dry for three months, allowing much of the moisture to evaporate, resulting in a very high sugar content. After fermentation, the wine is aged for 30 months in oak barrels and then for another 12 months in bottle.

The Zenato Amarone della Valpolicella Classico has a beautiful, yet typical, dark ruby-red Amarone color. The Amarone boasts impressive elegance with ripe fruit and an inviting bouquet. It's a deep ruby red with subtle hints of aromatic herbs. On the palate, the powerful, warm, and rich flavors, including wild cherries and chocolate, are impressive. This wine is recommended with roasted and grilled meats and aged cheeses. Eric Guido of Vinous concludes his review (see the full review text next to the image) with: "My hat is off to Zenato."
