The Nebbiolo DOC Gambarin is a young red wine made from the noble Nebbiolo wine and at Montaribaldi they know better than anyone how to make fantastic wines from this because they are the masters of Terroir wines. The vineyard is located in the municipality of Treiso at an altitude of 250-330 m and is almost 40 years old. The Nebbiolo is a late ripening grape variety and is not harvested by Montaribaldi until the first week of October. Once at the winery, the grapes are destemmed and crushed and then placed in stainless steel thermo-conditioned tanks where alcoholic fermentation takes place. The alcoholic fermentation lasts about a week at a temperature of 26-28 ° C. Then and very important with the Nebbiolo, let the wine rest for 3 to 4 months at a low temperature to facilitate the deposition of the cloudiness and the clarification. Simply by giving the wine time, you do not have to use all kinds of tricks to get the wine clear. After this period, the Nebbiolos are allowed to mature in oak barrels. This is done in both 1 year old and 2 year old barriques of 225 liters (50%) as well as in large oak barrels (2,500-3,000 l 50%). The rearing in oak lasts 8-12 months. After this period, it will remain in the Montaribaldi cellars for a few months, after which we can enjoy it.

At the Nebbiolo DOC Gambarin, nothing is rushed and everything takes place with minimal intervention. This is a very pleasant wine with the elegance of its great brother, the Barolo. The wine has a brilliant ruby red color with garnet reflections. On the nose the wine is broad and fruity with hints of violets and raspberries, perfectly blended with a certain spiciness. The oak gives the wine an extra cachet without being dominant. In the mouth the wine is fresh, fruity with soft and delicate tannins. The Gambarin is an ideal wine to enjoy in front of the fireplace, on the terrace and perfect with a meal. Delicious with a BBQ, with pizza and with red pasta dishes.

The 'azienda agricola Montaribaldi' is historically a family business, located in the middle of the Langhe hills in the small village of Barbaresco. The Montaribaldi winery has been owned by the Taliano family from the beginning and has 19 hectares in the Barberesco area. In 1994 Luciano and Roberto took over the company from their father and immediately decided to only produce high quality wines. It is still a real family business, father Guiseppe and mother Carla as well as the wives of the owners, Antonella and Franca all cooperate. At present they produce about 75000 bottles a year. Thanks to the perfect location of the vineyards of Montaribaldi and the typical white soil of the hills in Langhe, the elegant wines that come from them have a long life. Note that the land around the Montaribaldi vineyards is from Gaja. The family makes some of the most famous wines from the Piedmont region: Barbaresco DOCG, Barolo DOCG, Barbera d'Alba DOC, Barbera d'Asti DOCG, Roero Arneis. They offer a complete range of wines, from grapes typical of this region. Typical of this winery is that the wines have their origin in Piedmont, are always recognizable as a 'Montaribaldi' wine and are sustainably grown and produced. As they call it themselves: making 'vineyard wines' distinguishes them from others.
