Description
The Lynsolence Saint-Émilion Grand Cru 2020 is produced by Vignobles Denis Barraud. This wine is made from 100% Merlot grapes, from old vines with an average age of 45 to 50 years. The vineyard covers 2.5 hectares in the commune of Saint-Sulpice-de-Faleyrens, on the site "Le Bert". The soil consists of very gravelly sandy soil with a subsoil of ferrous clay, which contributes to the unique expression of the wine.
After careful manual harvesting, the wine undergoes fermentation in thermoregulated wooden vats and 400-litre barriques. A cold pre-fermentative maceration is applied for 8 to 10 days at 6°C, followed by a long cuvaison of more than 30 days. Malolactic fermentation takes place in new French oak barriques, followed by maturation on the lees for 18 months in 100% new oak barriques from the Tronçais forest.
In the glass, the Lynsolence has a dark color with purple hues, which reflects the concentration and intensity of the wine. On the nose, we smell aromas of fresh blackberries, crushed black cherries and ripe, juicy black plums, complemented by nuances of cedar, lilac and licorice, with a touch of dusty earth. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, with an abundance of concentrated black fruit, surrounded by firm, fine-grained tannins and a fantastic tension, ending with a long and layered finish. Vinous concludes its rating (96/100) with: " This potent, deep Saint-Émilion is a winner "
The Lynsolence 2020 goes well with dishes such as grilled red meat, game and mature cheeses. It is recommended to decant the wine and serve it at a temperature of 16 to 18°C to experience the full expression of the aromas and flavors.

The 2020 Lynsolence, 100% old-vine Merlot, is even better than it was en primeur. Inky, deep and explosive, with remarkable energy, the 2020 is a rockstar. Crème de cassis, crushed rocks, lavender, spice and menthol are all vivid in the glass. This potent, deep Saint-Émilion is a winner. Superb. Tasted two times.
