Description

This area is known for producing exceptional white wines, primarily from Chardonnay. Bruno Colin’s estate includes vineyards in some of Burgundy’s most prestigious appellations, including Chassagne-Montrachet, Puligny-Montrachet and Saint-Aubin. Bruno Colin’s wines are highly regarded for their elegance, finesse and balance. The philosophy of Burgundy winemaking has always been rooted in the concept of ‘terroir’. Burgundy winemakers, including Bruno Colin, focus on expressing the terroir of their specific vineyards in their wines. Many Burgundy producers, like Bruno Colin, come from families with deep winemaking traditions. These family businesses have been passed down from generation to generation, with each generation often building on the knowledge and experience of those who came before.
The estate cultivates 0.49 hectares on this appellation. Plantings were made here in 1952 and 1987. The soil is mainly clay-limestone and is cultivated organically and mechanically. The harvest is, as is customary in Burgundy, done by hand. This plot is located almost at the top of the hill, just below the Hameau de Blagny. This appellation with an attractive name is cultivated on one of the smallest terroirs in Puligny (2.50 ha). It takes its name from the Truffe de Bourgogne (Burgundian truffle). In the past, at a time when there were fewer vineyards, the soils were very favourable to this type of mushroom. The wine is aged for 12 months in 350-litre barrels (15 to 20% new barrels) and for 4 to 6 months in barrels before bottling. The wine has a golden hue and exceptional purity. A very precise wine with a mineral backbone and good complexity. The nose is dominated by aromas of white flowers and liquorice. The taste is full, smooth and rich with a delicate acidity that provides a lively finish. This wine offers excellent aging potential. Discrete peppery and woody notes develop with a very long finish.
