2022 La Pousse d'Or Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Amoureuses
How does this wine taste?
How full and heavy the wine feels in your mouth, like the difference between skimmed milk and cream. More alcohol, sugar and oak ageing make a wine fuller.
The drying, grippy feel on your gums and tongue, as with strong tea. It comes from the skins and seeds of black grapes and from oak, and softens with age.
How much sugar you taste, from dry to sweet. Fruity is not the same as sweet: a dry wine can taste of ripe fruit.
How fresh and juicy the wine is: acidity makes your mouth water. High acidity tastes lively and refreshing, low acidity soft and round.

2022 La Pousse d'Or Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Amoureuses
Les Amoureuses is one of the most refined Premier Crus of Chambolle-Musigny and is often mentioned in the same breath as the great Grand Crus of the Côte de Nuits.
Vineyard and terroir
Les Amoureuses lies directly below Musigny and shares the same chalky, stony soil structure. This plot is known for its combination of silky texture, floral refinement, and subtle power. In 2022, the plot yielded perfectly ripe grapes that retained their tension and aromatic lift.
The 2022 vintage
2022 brought ripeness and concentration to Burgundy, but the best plots retain freshness and precision. In Chambolle-Musigny, this results in wines with ripe red fruit notes, velvety tannins, and a remarkably pure structure.
Color, smell and taste
Bright ruby red with subtle purple hues. The nose reveals notes of red cherries, raspberries, and rose petals, complemented by delicate spice and subtle earthy notes. The palate is refined and silky, with a core of pure red fruit and an elegant, almost weightless structure. The tannins are extremely fine and perfectly integrated. The finish is long, mineral, and floral, with a characteristic tension that distinguishes Les Amoureuses.
Structure and storage potential
This 2022 vintage combines charm with serious depth. The wine is approachable in its youth thanks to its refined tannins, yet possesses sufficient structure and balance to continue to develop for the next 15 years or more.

Wine features
