Prieto Pariente is a new wine project initiated and led by Martina and Ignacio Prieto Pariente and supported by the knowledge and experience of the second generation of the Prieto wine family. The core of this new challenge is based on the selection of very old vineyards from the province of Valladolid. Martina and Ignacio strongly believe in sustainable viticulture and in respecting the origins.

Difference, territory and selection, define the wines of Prieto Pariente. The house identifies with regions such as Castilla y Leon, Valladolid, the high plateau, Paramos, of northern Spain, and the mineral hills of Cebreros and Bierzo that surround the region. Prieto Pariente aims to create wines with unique personalities, that have a distinctive character and are characterized by a profile of freshness and complexity.

The grapes for Prieto Pariente wines come from old vineyards with very low yields, located in Castile and León, in the province of Valladolid and in the mountainous region of Sierra de Gredos. In Valladolid, the vineyards are located in three different villages: Mucientes, Pedrosa del Rey and Valbuena de Duero. Each plot is fermented separately, allowing the most suitable blend to be selected for each of the wines. This 100% Viognier is a wine of spontaneous fermentation, partly in stainless steel vats and partly in French oak barrels of 300L. The wine is aged for 6 months.

A small hidden vineyard of Viognier was found while exploring the province of Valladolid. An aromatic wine, with a lot of volume and full of taste. In the nose this vital viognier with complex aromas of tropical fruits, vanilla and a light spiciness. In the mouth this Jose Pariente gives fresh elements in addition to pleasant minerals with an impressively beautiful aftertaste due to the old age of the vines. With the domain Prieto Pariente a long cherished wish of Martina and Ignacio Prieto Pariente has come true.

In 2000, two friends, Marivi Pariente and Viki Benavides, set up a domain in Rueda under the name Dos Victorias. In the beginning they vinify in another bodega because there are not enough resources yet. Plans are slowly maturing to start using your own bodega. It will be built in San Roman de Hornija, a village not located in the Rueda area but in Toro. From then on, red wine is also made in the Toro appellation. Legally, however, it is impossible to also vinify their white Rueda in this new bodega and have to split both of their friends in 2007: Marivi Pariente builds her bodega in Rueda under the name José Pariente and Viki Benavides retains the bodega in San Roman de Hornija under the name Elías Mora. So both women have named their domain after two men ... in tribute to the gentlemen who have maintained the vieilles vignes they now work with for years. José Pariente is the father of Marivi Pariente and so he took care of old Verdejo sticks all his life to pass on to the next generations. The bodega that has since been built in La Seca is today headed by Marivi and her daughter Martina. The José Pariente Verdejo has already won countless awards in Spain and is constantly being promoted as the example to follow in Rueda.

Jose Pariente has a total of 65 ha of vineyard, of which 60 ha Verdejo and 5 ha Sauvignon blanc. Verdejo is thus clearly the most important grape in the vineyards of Jose Pariente. Since 2015, a red wine has also launched the Prieto Pariente. The Prieto Pariente is guaranteed to be just as much a hit as the famous Verdejo and Sauvignon blanc.
