First planted with vines in the 1880s, Eisele Vineyard is located in the northeastern Napa Valley, just east of Calistoga at the base of the Palisades Mountains. The vineyard has been grown organically since 1998 and biodynamically since 2000. The wines produced in this remarkable place have a rare combination of frank character with precisely defined flavors and fine textures, deep concentration without any sense of heaviness, and the ability to developing a deep complexity over the years. The Eisele Vineyard was originally planted in Zinfandel and Riesling in the 1880's, and has been continuously planted with vines ever since. The first Cabernet was planted in 1964. In addition to the cabernet, Eisele is now also famous for their Sauvignon Blanc. Fantastic white from Napa Valley with again great storage potential.

The vineyards of Eisele Vineyard are managed in a biodynamic way and the grapes are harvested manually to ensure quality. The grapes are then carefully selected and after fermentation, the wine is aged for 18 months in French oak barrels. The Eisele Vineyard - Cabernet Sauvignon is a highly appreciated wine among wine enthusiasts for its complex flavor and its rich, full-bodied structure. Deze 2019 Eisele Vineyard Estate Cabernet Sauvignon toont een geconcentreerd smaakpalet van cassis, boysenbes en kers, omlijst door bloemige tonen van violet en roos, subtiele menthol en mineraal, met stevige, zijdeachtige tannines en een lange, elegante afdronk. Dankzij die diepe zwarte en rode fruitlagen en de krachtige, toch frisse tannines werkt de wijn prachtig bij rood vlees zoals gegrilde entrecote of lamskoteletjes, rijke stoofschotels en krachtige kazen omdat hij vet en umami knipt en tegelijk het gerecht oprolt; extra mooi wordt het bij langzaam gegaarde bereidingen zoals een lang gestoofd rundvlees of lamschotel met rozemarijn en knoflook, en bij gegrild vlees geeft een korte rusttijd na het grillen de wijn de ruimte om zijn complexiteit volledig te ontvouwen.

Medium to full-bodied, the palate is built like a brick house, featuring very firm, wonderfully ripe, grainy tannins and bold freshness to support the vivacious, tightly wound black and red fruit layers, finishing long and mineral laced. It's a stunning, evocative, singular wine that so beautifully captures the long, slow-maturing grace of the 2019 vintage.

This is sophisticated and intellectual, with an incredible wall of fine tannins that take you deep down into the soul of the wine. Full-to medium-bodied, tight and soulful. Tar, ash and volcanic-soil flavors. White pepper, too. Great length. Shows the first-growth quality of the vineyards, harking back to the wines of the mid-1970s. From biodynamically grown grapes with Demeter certification. This needs at least six to seven years of bottle age. Best after 2028.

Eisele Vineyard, first planted with vines in the 1880s, is located in the northeastern Napa Valley, just east of Calistoga at the base of the Palisades Mountains. Grown organically since 1998 and biodynamically since 2000, the site has been devoted mainly to Cabernet Sauvignon for the last fifty years. Beginning with its inaugural release called Eisele in 1971, this iconic vineyard has consistent recognition for owning one of Napa Valley's great terroirs. The wines invariably express the exceptional depth, elegance and longevity that characterize the Eisele vineyard.
Since 1971, some of California's most famous Cabernet Sauvignons have been made from grapes grown in the Eisele Vineyard, located on an alluvial slope near the north end of the Napa Valley, just east of Calistoga. Protected by the Palisades Mountains to the north and cooled by the western breezes of the Chalk Hill Gap, this 38-acre vineyard is planted on well-drained boulder soils that produce a low-yielding crop of exceptionally concentrated fruit.
