Tasty Aglianico wine from the Italian quality winery Antonio Caggiano from Campania . One of the top wineries we like to connect our name to! That is why this beautiful winery is included in our Grand Cru wines exclusive range.

A beautiful red wine with the characteristics of the Aglianico grape. This Tauri Aglianico Dell'Irpinia is made from vines that grow in Taurasi. The vineyards there are about 350 meters above sea level, and are surrounded by an atmosphere of folklore, ancient traditions, historic architecture and religion. The city of Taurasi has a historic city center with amazing architectural feats and ancient art pieces. Old churches and chapels embellish the area with its many folkloric festivals and traditions. Taurasi is an important wine center for the region. The soil of the vineyards is a mixture of clay and limestone.

The grapes for this wine are always harvested quite late in the season, around the end of October, beginning of November. Fermentation takes place at controlled temperature in stainless steel vats. The wine ages in barriques for a period of about 4 to 6 months, depending on the grapes.

The wine is beautiful ruby red in color and has a wonderful scent of red forest fruits and black plums. Super taste due to the excellent combination of herbs & fruit and pleasant tannins. The wine is, for an aglianico wine, soft in taste with a long finish in which hints of dark pepper and green chili pepper are nicely present. Delicious to drink immediately, but storing for a few years only makes this wine even tastier. James Suckling. writes in his review: "This is a gorgeous young aglianico."

Combines very well with dishes with beautiful beef or lamb. Also tastes good with pasta dishes.
