Description
The 2019 EABA ("end all be all") is a blend of 61% Syrah, 24% Mourvèdre, 13% Grenache and 2% Viognier and is made with 65% whole clusters. The fruit comes from a variety of vineyards in Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties, including Bien Nacido, White Hawk, Larner, Harrison-Clarke, G2 and Alta Mesa. It was aged for approximately 22 months in 55% new French barriques and 600-liter demi-muids and 45% used French barriques, and was bottled on August 21, 2021. Opaque ruby purple in color, it offers beautiful, pure aromas of licorice, tar, blueberry and black cherry jam, charcuterie, pepper, olives and baked savory herbs, offering more nuances as it spends time in the glass. Medium-bodied, it has abundant, superfine tannins, seamless acidity and slowly expanding, spicy layers of flavour, finishing very long and seductively floral. This wine begs to be enjoyed now, but will certainly reward those who wait, as this beauty is just beginning to show its true potential.

The 2019 EABA ("end all be all") is a blend of 61% Syrah, 24% Mourvèdre, 13% Grenache and 2% Viognier and was made with 65% whole clusters. Fruit comes from several vineyards in Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties, including Bien Nacido, White Hawk, Larner, Harrison-Clarke, G2 and Alta Mesa. It was matured for about 22 months in 55% new French barriques and 600-liter demi-muids and 45% used French barriques, and it was bottled on August 21, 2021. Opaque ruby-purple in color, it offers beautiful, pure scents of licorice, tar, blueberry and black cherry jam, charcuterie, pepper, olive and fried savory herbs, offering up more nuances as it spends time in the glass. Medium-bodied, it has abundant, super-fine tannins, seamless acidity and slowly expanding, spicy flavor layers, finishing very long and alluringly floral. Its notable length, detail and latency suggest this will continue to improve in bottle over the next 5-7 years and will be long lived in the cellar. About 795 cases and a few magnums were made. It will be packaged and sold as a three-bottle set ($330), and each magnum will be sold in a box set with the 2019 Andremily Grenache.

From: Santa Barbara: On the Road…Finally! (Oct 2021)
The 2019 EABA is an outrageously beautiful, ample wine that captures the Andremily style at its best. Super-ripe red cherry, plum, spice, new leather, menthol and mocha all race across the palate as this striking, dense wine shows off its alluring personality. A bit of sweetness from the oak comes through, but then again, this is a young barrel sample. The 2019 is a blend taken from an enviable collection of sites: Bien Nacido, White Hawk, Larner, Harrison-Clarke, G2 and Alta Mesa.

It’s exciting times at Andremily. Last year Jim Binns acquired Slide Hill (formerly Sawyer-Lindquist), the well-known site in Edna Valley, a major step towards becoming a true estate. The range continues to expand with a new Grenache bottling. As always, the wines are done in an opulent style informed by the years Binns spent working alongside Manfred and Elaine Krankl at Sine Qua Non. The 2018s and 2019s are terrific. Binns describes 2019 as warmer than 2018, with more stem lignification and a harvest that was a good 10-14 days earlier than 2018. In tasting, all the wines are pretty rich. The 2018s have a touch more energy, but that is splitting hairs at this level.

Andremily Wines is a prestigious winery based in Ventura, California, founded by Jim Binns. The winery is known for its limited production and high quality, with a focus on RhĂ´ne varietals. Jim Binns, the founder of Andremily Wines, has an impressive background in the wine industry. He worked at Sine Qua Non, a renowned winery, for many years before starting his own winery. Andremily Wines specializes in RhĂ´ne varieties, with an emphasis on Syrah. The wines are often characterized by their rich, full-bodied flavor profiles and complex aromas.
Andremily Wines' production is very limited, which adds to the exclusivity and demand for their wines. This small-scale approach ensures that each bottle is made with the utmost care and attention. Andremily Wines' portfolio includes mainly Syrah-based wines, as well as blends with other Rhône varietals such as Grenache and Mourvèdre. These wines are praised for their depth, structure and balance.
The grapes for Andremily Wines come from carefully selected vineyards in top areas such as Santa Barbara County and Paso Robles. These regions are known for their excellent terroir for RhĂ´ne varieties. Jim Binns and his team strive to create wines that reflect the unique characteristics of their terroir and varietals. A lot of emphasis is placed on manual processes in the vineyard and winery to ensure the highest quality. Due to limited production, Andremily's wines are sold through a waiting list and allocation system to a very limited number of sellers, with more than 90% within America. This means that loyal customers and collectors often get their first chance to buy new releases.
