Telmo Rodriguez first produced the As Caborcas wine in 2010 and immediately received critical acclaim. He normally only makes around 2500 bottles here and less than 1,900 bottles from 2019, so this is a very scarce and unique wine. The Caborcas comes from a 2.5 hectare vineyard at 550 meters above sea level. The vines are only 50 to 70 years old and root on a granite plateau on the banks of the Bibei River. Telmo is a believer in having multiple varieties of grapes in a vineyard and this vineyard contains a blend of old varieties, Mencia, Souson, Garnacha, Merenzao, Godello and Brancellao. The wine has a light red color. The nose is dominated by red fruits such as cherries, raspberries and even a hint of blood oranges and licorice. In the mouth we still taste the beautiful fresh red fruit with a hint of rusticity. The wine has a great length and nice fresh acidity and a beautiful aftertaste. 97/100 Parker
