2013 Champagne Siret Frère & Sœur Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut Grand Cru
How does this wine taste?
How full and heavy the wine feels in your mouth, like the difference between skimmed milk and cream. More alcohol, sugar and oak ageing make a wine fuller.
How much sugar you taste, from dry to sweet. Fruity is not the same as sweet: a dry wine can taste of ripe fruit.
How fresh and juicy the wine is: acidity makes your mouth water. High acidity tastes lively and refreshing, low acidity soft and round.

2013 Champagne Siret Frère & Sœur Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut Grand Cru
A 100% Chardonnay Grand Cru from the 2013 vintage, disgorged in February 2022 with a dosage of 3 g/L.
Origin and vinification
This Blanc de Blancs comes from Grand Cru vineyards in the Côte des Blancs. The low-dosage Extra Brut style emphasizes the purity and natural structure of the vintage. The long aging on lees adds complexity and depth.
The 2013 vintage
2013 was a classic vintage with lively acidity and a tight structure. Combined with bottle aging, this resulted in a Champagne with ripe aromas and a refreshing tension.
Color, smell and taste
Golden yellow with a fine mousse. The nose reveals notes of dried apple, almond, and subtle toffee, complemented by light wood and cedar accents. The palate is full and layered with ripe fruit, fresh acidity, and a slightly salty, dusty undertone. There's a hint of sealing wax and a nutty complexity that hints at maturation. The finish is lingering and gastronomic in character.
Structure and drinking window
With a 3 g/L dosage, the wine remains tight and dry, while aging has given it roundness. This 2013 is showing itself to be beautifully developed and ready to drink, with sufficient structure to age for several more years.

This shows mature character already with dried apple, hints of toffee, cedar and almonds. It’s full-bodied and layered with lovely fruit flavors and tangy acidity with a slight sealing-wax undertone and a dustiness. One for a meal. Interesting. Disgorged February 2022. 3g/L dosage. Drink now.
