Grechetto
Grechetto
The Grechetto grape is an Italian grape variety with its origin in Greece, in Italy the grape is mainly planted in Umbria. It is a fairly productive grape variety with a thick skin and almost never suffers from mildew. It is an important grape variety for the production of Orvieto wine and is also mostly used as a blend grape, with Chardonnay, Malvasia, Trebbiano and Verdelho. Due to its thick skin, it is possible to harvest the grape late with a high sugar content, ideal for the production of dessert wines.
